Online admission application for class XI will start in January

The results of the SSC-equivalent examination may be released later this month. After that, from January, the online admission process for the eleventh class in colleges and madrasas will start online again in the new academic year (2021-22). With this, the draft admission policy has already been prepared. It is learned that it may be sent to the Ministry of Education next week.

According to the draft policy, the quota for freedom fighters, expatriates and BKSP has been maintained and other quotas have been canceled for admission in class XI this year. Admission is only offered online. There is an opportunity to apply online in minimum five and maximum 10 colleges or madrasas. 150 will be taken for this. However, it is not possible to apply for admission by sending an SMS through mobile phone.

Asked about the admission policy for class XI in this regard, Dhaka Board of Education Chairman Professor Nehal Ahmed said, in the light of the previous year, the online application and the list of those selected in the same manner will be published. Class XI admission will be conducted in collaboration with BUET. There is no opportunity to make any kind of fake application and fraud.

It has been seen in the policy that 5 percent freedom fighters, 0.5 percent BKSP and 0.5 percent expatriate quota has been maintained as special quota for educational institutions without 100 percent merit quota. This time the quota of departmental and district headquarters, subordinate departments of the Ministry of Education has been canceled. It has been proposed to fix the admission confirmation fee at Tk 135 like last year. In other words, if the name is in the final list, a student has to pay this amount. The draft policy has been prepared in a meeting of college inspectors of all education boards of the country this week.

This year, the admission fee for class XI in private educational institutions in Dhaka metropolitan area has been fixed at Tk 5,000. Besides, it has been informed that the admission fee for partial MPO registered and non-MPO institutions in Dhaka will be fixed at Tk 9,000 and English medium admission fee will be fixed at Tk 10,000. However, the development fee cannot be more than 3 thousand Taka, it is applicable to all organizations. Receipts have been issued for collection of money in each sector.

Admission fee has been fixed at Tk. 1000 in Mufassil and municipal areas and Tk. 2000 in district headquarters. Besides, it has been mentioned in the draft that no more than three thousand Taka can be taken in other metropolitan areas except Dhaka.

As per the policy, online admission for the first phase of class XI has been proposed to start from January 8 to 15. Applications will be taken from the students in three steps every week. After the online application, the results will be published on the website of each board of education. An SMS will be sent to the mobile number provided by the selected applicant. They will be given the opportunity to confirm for admission online or directly to the college.
